In a landmark move to bolster technological transformation and sustainable development in Nigeria’s higher education sector, Zinox Technologies has partnered with the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) to accelerate innovation and deploy renewable energy solutions across tertiary institutions nationwide.

Themed “Advancing Innovation for a Sustainable Future,” the high-level meeting brought together senior executives from both organizations to explore collaborative initiatives that support digital transformation, energy sustainability, and institutional resilience through technology adoption.

Leading the Zinox Technologies delegation was Chairman Leo Stan Ekeh, accompanied by members of the company’s executive management team. Representing TETFUND was Executive Secretary Sonny Echono, alongside his top leadership.

A key outcome of the discussions was the agreement to implement scalable renewable energy infrastructure—such as solar power solutions—in universities and polytechnics across the country. The initiative is expected to enhance energy efficiency, reduce operational costs, and provide reliable power for research, learning, and innovation.

Kelechi Eze-Okonta, Managing Director of Zinox, delivered a strategic presentation on the company’s advanced ICT capabilities and vertical solutions, highlighting the need for intentional policy support to strengthen indigenous technology solutions. She emphasized that sustainable economic growth depends on investing in local innovation ecosystems and building digital capacity within academic institutions.

TETFUND leadership acknowledged Zinox Technologies’ long-standing contribution to Africa’s digital advancement. Sonny Echono praised Ekeh’s visionary leadership and Zinox’s role in promoting technology awareness, adoption, and infrastructure deployment across Nigeria.

“We commend the impact Zinox has made in catalyzing Nigeria’s digital economy. This partnership opens a new frontier in energy innovation and regulatory compliance within the tertiary education space,” Echono stated. “Our goal is to co-create efficient and scalable energy solutions that support institutional sustainability and enhance the learning environment.”

The collaboration aligns with Nigeria’s broader regulatory framework on sustainable development, energy transition, and digital transformation in education. It is also in step with global trends in compliance automation and the deployment of clean energy solutions in public infrastructure.

Both Zinox and TETFUND reaffirmed their commitment to implementing forward-thinking initiatives that improve institutional capacity, enable regulatory technology solutions, and enhance the governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) posture of Nigeria’s educational ecosystem.

This strategic partnership is a significant milestone in equipping Nigerian tertiary institutions with modern technological infrastructure and sustainable energy systems, laying the groundwork for a future-ready, digitally empowered academic environment.
