The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has issued a warning to Nigerians, emphasizing that modifications to National Identification Number (NIN) data should only be carried out through the official NIMC self-service portal: Selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng.
Dr. Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, stressed in a statement that using unauthorized websites for NIN modifications could compromise personal information and expose individuals to identity theft risks.
“To safeguard the integrity and security of your NIN data, it is crucial to avoid unauthorized portals. Modifications should only be done via the official NIMC self-service platform, ensuring that your personal information remains protected,” Adegoke advised.
He further highlighted that the NIMC self-service portal offers convenience, allowing users to update their information securely from any location and at any time.
For official NIN modifications, Nigerians are urged to visit Selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng.
