Ghana Tech Lab has teamed up with several partners in a weeks-long fourth edition of the Ghana Start-up Summit in Accra.

This programme runs on the theme, “Enterprise Innovation and Youth employment at the centre of Ghana’s digital drive” primarily focussed on showcasing all youth-led enterprise innovations that offer alternatives means of self-employment to the young while demonstrating the potential to accelerate Ghana’s digital transformational drive. The programme is targeting 7,000 youth.

Ghana Tech Lab was established in 2018. It operates as a strategic ecosystem transformational hub powering the country’s digital transformation. This year’s programme will support the select SMEs with internet, servers, and the accompanying branding costs – in addition to social media exposure. The intent is to expose them to markets beyond Ghana’s borders.

In communication with the media, a Managing Associate at the Ghana Tech Lab, Mr. Edward Akani, pointed out some of the partners they are working with such as the Ministry of Communication and Digitalization, Mastercard foundation, and the World Bank through the Accra Digital Centre.

This year’s innovation program has a special focus on digital media and runs for six weeks accompanied by 10 weeks of incubation followed by internship while the National Acceleration programme continued on for 6 months while focussing on startups in operation for less than 3 years.

The event’s press statement shared with country media purposely said that this weeks-long summit looks to inspire both early and growth-stage entrepreneurs to receive support on innovative, scalable, and sustainable enterprises intended to close national and international brand partnerships.

Ghana Tech Lab works hand in hand with 21 ecosystem partners across Ghana in driving technology innovations and advance digital transformation through skills training while providing innovative entrepreneurs with support and investments for startups.
