GRA calls for nominations to technical committee on Publican AI rollout

The Ghana Revenue Authority has moved to deepen stakeholder engagement in the planned rollout of the Publican AI system, inviting nominations for a multi-party technical committee to support its implementation in customs operations.

In a letter dated April 14, 2026, the Authority requested key stakeholders to nominate representatives to serve on the committee, as part of efforts to create a more structured and inclusive engagement framework.

The development follows a stakeholders’ meeting held on April 1, 2026, at Ghana’s Ministry of Finance Ghana, where participants agreed on the need for a coordinated platform to address concerns and guide discussions around the AI-driven system.

Under the proposed arrangement, each participating organisation is expected to nominate three representatives to the committee, which will play a central role in shaping the rollout process and addressing operational and policy considerations.

According to the GRA, the committee is expected to commence work immediately, with its inaugural meeting scheduled for April 16, 2026, at the Ministry of Finance.

The initiative reflects broader government efforts to ensure inclusive participation in the deployment of the Publican AI system, which is designed to enhance efficiency, improve transparency, and streamline customs procedures across the country.

By bringing together diverse stakeholders, authorities aim to build consensus, strengthen trust, and ensure a smoother transition to AI-enabled customs operations.
