Ecobank Uganda has announced a strategic partnership with Ria Money Transfer, a global leader in cross-border remittances, to enhance international money transfer services across the country. This collaboration aims to simplify remittance processes, ensuring faster, more secure, and more efficient financial transactions for Ugandans at home and in the diaspora.
Through this alliance, Ecobank customers can now receive funds directly into their bank accounts, improving financial accessibility and streamlining digital payments. Additionally, both account holders and non-account holders can collect cash transfers at any Ecobank branch or through an extensive sub-agent network across Uganda, reinforcing financial inclusion initiatives.
Grace Muliisa, Managing Director of Ecobank Uganda, emphasized the importance of secure and seamless remittance solutions for Africans in the diaspora. She stated, “Partnering with Ria Money Transfer aligns with our commitment to providing secure and efficient financial services, making it easier for Ugandans to receive funds from abroad.”
El Hadj Malick Seck, Managing Director of Ria Money Transfer, Africa, acknowledged Uganda’s growing role in Africa’s remittance ecosystem, noting that this collaboration will provide greater convenience and more options for recipients of international funds.
By leveraging regulatory technology solutions and strengthening compliance management, this initiative enhances financial inclusion, ensuring secure, transparent, and efficient cross-border transactions for individuals and businesses across Uganda.
