Ghana: GCB Bank Launches VISA Business Cards

GCB Bank PLC has officially unveiled a range of Visa Business Cards as the Bank’s response to the ever-increasing innovation within the banking sector and the fast-changing customer needs that have emerged.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of GCB Bank PLC, Mr Kofi Adomakoh, assured customers that as Ghana’s first and largest indigenous Bank, GCB is committed towards providing clients with the needed support to help them navigate the current economic difficulties.

Mr. Adomakoh expressed appreciation to GCB Bank’s customers and assured them that the Bank would continue to make service excellence the heartbeat of its operations.

Commenting on the rationale for the new GCB Visa Business Cards, the Executive Director of Wholesale and Investment Banking, GCB Bank PLC, Mr Sam Aidoo, explained that the Bank aims to keep step with the rampant changes within the sector, meet customer needs and deploy technology across every facet of the Bank’s operations to deliver superior value to our customers and shareholders.

DSC 0864 minMr Aidoo revealed that over the past two and half years, the Bank has embarked on a market dominance strategy anchored around three strategic pillars, namely profitability and growth, operational excellence, people and talents. He added that GCB would continue to demonstrate strong market awareness and the agility to continue developing customer-centric solutions that meet and exceeds customers’ expectations. 

DSC 10501  Further, Mr Aidoo expressed hope that the new GCB Visa business cards will help push Ghana’s move towards a cashless society and help mitigate the risk of carrying bulk cash for business transactions.

On his part, the Head of Commercial Banking of GCB Bank PLC, Mr George Fuachie, explained that the GCB VISA Business Cards, available in debit and prepaid options, have been designed to serve the needs of commercial banking, MSME and corporate clients. He stressed that the state-of-the-art cards are pin and chip-enabled for safer online and offline payments.

To reaffirm the Bank’s commitment to delivering long-term value to customers, GCB Bank has established strategic partnerships with various merchants and partners to give GCB Business card holders discounts of up to 15 per cent on their purchases.

The Country Manager of Visa, Mrs Adoma Owusu, pleaded the support of her company to GCB’s digital transformation agenda.
