It is quite certain that the world will not remain the same after COVID-19. This pandemic is teaching the world many lessons, one of which is the urgency of the need to adopt digital technology and to explore the opportunities of the virtual space.

COVID-19 will spur rapid technology adoption, potentially changing the working world. Fear of contagion is leading many to abandon cash in favour of digital payments. Social distancing is prompting organizations to embrace video conferencing, virtual classrooms and telemedicine at an unprecedented scale.

As the crisis continues, it could accelerate development of next-gen remote working technologies, such as augmented and virtual reality. Since these technologies will generate efficiency gains, organizations may retain them beyond the crisis. This process will reshape entire industries and reframe the nature of work and learning. Companies may rethink their real estate strategy and footprint, new collaboration and teamwork models could emerge, and remote learning could redefine education.

Whatever the new normal becomes in the aftermath of the current crisis, it’s apparent that the technology landscape will play a major role in the future of business at both private and public levels.

In a bid to chart a common course and proffer insights into what many have described as the ‘New Normal’ for corporates and governments, key tech giants and industry experts will be hosting a free live webinar with the theme: ‘Technology Landscape: Post COVID-19 What does the future hold for businesses and governments thereafter?’ on Thursday, 30th April 2020; at 12 noon prompt.

The list of carefully selected panellists include Dr. Yele Okeremi (MD/CEO Precise Financial System Limited and President Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria)
