First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has been recognised by the Lagos Chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) for its contributions to technology governance, cybersecurity, risk management, audit, assurance and digital trust in Nigeria.
The bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Yemisi Edun, received a commemorative plaque recognising FCMB’s contribution to digital trust and professional development during ISACA Lagos Chapter’s 30th anniversary celebration in Lagos on August 21, according to a statement issued by the bank on Thursday.
The recognition also highlighted the partnership between FCMB and ISACA in advancing knowledge sharing, professional development and stronger technology standards across Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.

Edun said the recognition reflected the bank’s commitment to strengthening the professional standards and capabilities required to build trust in an increasingly technology-driven financial sector.
“We value our partnership with ISACA,” Edun said. “This honour reflects our shared commitment to strengthening the professional capabilities and standards that underpin digital trust.”
She added that sound technology governance, cybersecurity, risk management and assurance would remain critical as financial institutions increasingly rely on digital infrastructure.
“As financial services become more technology-driven, sound governance, cybersecurity, risk management, and assurance will remain essential to institutional resilience, customer protection, and sustainable economic growth,” she said.
Edun expressed confidence that ISACA would continue developing professionals equipped with the technical expertise and leadership capabilities needed to navigate emerging risks and opportunities.

ISACA Global Chief Executive Officer Erik Prusch highlighted the experience and resilience of Nigeria’s information technology and cybersecurity professionals, stressing the importance of skilled employees to organisational growth and digital transformation.
According to Prusch, organisations require trained and capable professionals who can respond effectively to technological change while helping businesses take advantage of emerging technologies.
The comments reinforce the growing importance of specialised expertise as organisations face increasingly complex cybersecurity, compliance and technology risks.
ISACA Lagos marks three decades of professional service
The anniversary also provided an opportunity for the ISACA Lagos Chapter to reflect on three decades of professional service, leadership and knowledge development.
Chapter President Justus Osuji said the milestone underscored the organisation’s contribution to strengthening information systems auditing, cybersecurity, governance, risk management, compliance and emerging technology in Nigeria and beyond.
The chapter has played a role in advancing professional knowledge and standards in areas increasingly critical to organisations managing digital transformation and regulatory requirements.
