Amid these unprecedented times, Schneider Electric is at the forefront of innovations and digital transformations that are poised to help reshape the future of energy management.

As the COVID-19 pandemic created massive disruptions globally, it compelled industries to accelerate the adoption of digital technologies that will ensure a more sustainable transition to the new normal. A critical component to this transition, however, is ensuring an equally significant shift in energy systems and automation solutions in a rapidly changing landscape.

“The global pandemic has accelerated the digital transformation of many businesses, and as the world’s leading provider of energy and automation digital solutions, Schneider Electric is committed to provide enterprises, infrastructures and even households with solutions and processes that are safe, reliable, efficient, sustainable and connected, easing them in this shift in digitalization,” said Schneider Electric country president Alexandre Vermot.

“With the world changing at an unprecedented pace, companies today must respond quickly, responsibly. This has accelerated digitization, reinforced by the core needs of remote everything, resiliency, efficiency and sustainability. Through leading-edge technology such as big data, machine learning, and AI, your business can unleash hidden efficiencies that deliver transformative impact,” Vermot explained.

Such leading edge solutions, geared towards helping create a more sustainable, resilient future, are at the core of the discussions at the fifth edition of the Innovation Summit World Tour 2020. Eleven live virtual events comprise this year’s summit, delving into the future of energy management and automation, which may help industries thrive in the new normal.

Over 1,000 industry experts are coming together for these events, featuring more than 50 thought leaders sharing ideas, trends, innovations spread across some 20 sessions. Vermot said these discussions would allow attendees “to learn more about the critical role that electrification, digitization, innovation, energy management and industrial automation can play in the transition towards a lower-carbon world to limit climate change to 1.5 degrees Celsius.” At the same time, these could enable attendees to better manage uncertainty amid uncharted waters, given the challenges posed by the pandemic.

The Innovation Summit, which kicked off on October 8, was opened by a keynote from Schneider Electric Chairman and CEO Jean-Pascal Tricoire, who urged attendees to accelerate their digital transformation to better position themselves for the upheaval caused by the climate crisis and the global pandemic while underscoring the positive impact of digital innovation on the environment, economic recovery and sustainability.

The Philippines and the rest of East Asia meanwhile will have the summit on Nov. 4. Focusing on sustainability and resilience in a post-COVID-19 world, the one-day digital event will feature Tricoire and other experts, who will unveil the latest market insights, inside track, and innovations.

These discussions will be pivotal amid these times, as Asia will need new energy solutions and strategies amid rising demand. By 2030, Southeast Asia is expected to be the fourth-largest economy, and to sustain this rapid expansion in the new normal, digitization is the solution to accelerate the roll out of innovations required to achieve far greater energy efficiency.

The Innovation Summit World Tour 2020 will conclude on November 26. Attendees can get digitally hands-on with the latest technologies shaping the future of energy management and industrial automation through the Virtual Innovation Hub.

Throughout the series of 11 events, Schneider Electric is likewise unveiling latest developments in the EcoStruxure architecture and platform as well as several new product offerings. EcoStruxure is Schneider Electric’s IoT-enabled, plug-and-play, open, interoperable architecture and platform, in homes, buildings, data centers, infrastructure and industries, which bring innovation at every level from connected products to edge control, apps, analytics and services.

These new offerings include a new range of low voltage switchboards, a new generation of breakers, an innovative green switchgear, and the EcoStruxture Automation Expert, said to be the world’s first software-centric industrial automation system.

“The COVID-19 crisis puts fundamentals in perspective and accelerates many existing trends. Strengthening resilience is our response. It is about strategizing for fast and agile reactions: digital and remote everywhere, local decision-making for speed and adaptation, and prioritization of sustainability to mitigate and adapt to primary threats such as a pandemic or climate change. At Schneider, we will continue to advocate for bold actions to create an all-digital, all-electric world, ensuring Life Is On everywhere, for everyone, and at every moment,” Vermot concluded.
