Network International has announced the launch of its innovative payment platform, Network One, in Nigeria, marking a significant expansion into the local and regional markets. The company plans to roll out Network One across key markets in the Middle East and Africa (MEA), enhancing its service offerings for clients and partners throughout the region.
While Network International’s headquarters are based in Dubai, it operates centers in Egypt, South Africa, and Nigeria. The newly introduced Network One platform is an integrated payment suite designed to offer comprehensive merchant and issuer solutions. It is hosted and supported within Nigeria, leveraging cutting-edge technology to provide end-to-end payment processing capabilities.
Nandan Mer, Group CEO of Network International, described the launch as a major achievement, emphasizing that the deployment involved months of preparation and contributions from both local teams and international colleagues.
At the launch event in Lagos, Mer underscored the importance of government-supported payment initiatives in achieving 95% financial inclusion in Nigeria. He emphasized that realizing this goal necessitates collaboration between the government and industry stakeholders, aligning with government policies and regulations.
Network International, a 30-year-old company, is recognized as the largest acquirer in the UAE and a leading enabler of digital commerce across the MEA region. The company has processed over $59 billion in payment volumes and more than 1.6 billion transactions for over 250 financial institutions.
Reda Helal, Group Managing Director – Processing, Africa and Co-Head of Group Processing at Network International, highlighted the company’s commitment to recruiting local talent. He noted that building a strong local team will lead to quicker results and reduced reliance on international support, providing significant operational benefits for clients both locally and regionally.
Network International emphasized its readiness to collaborate and co-innovate with local banks, mobile network operators, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and payment experts. The company’s strategic focus is on driving financial inclusion and enhancing the payment ecosystem in Nigeria and across the MEA region.
