Interswitch Launches Digital Forecourt Suite with Flexible ‘Pay-As-You-Want’ Feature

Interswitch has introduced a new Digital Forecourt suite, a technology-driven retail ecosystem designed to transform fuel retail operations by integrating payments, operational processes, and customer experiences into a single digital platform.

The solution was unveiled during the NNPC Retail Business Transformation Summit, held in May at the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) in Abuja, where Interswitch participated as the event’s Headline Technology Partner.

At the core of the platform is its “Pay-As-You-Want” capability, a flexible payment solution that allows customers to choose from multiple payment options when purchasing fuel and related services. The feature supports payments through cards, bank transfers, USSD, QR codes, digital wallets, and other channels, giving consumers more convenience while helping retailers improve transaction efficiency.

Transforming Fuel Retail Through Technology

The summit brought together regulators, energy stakeholders, technology providers, and industry leaders to discuss strategies shaping the future of fuel retail in Nigeria.

Conversations at the event focused on digital transformation, customer-centric service delivery, operational efficiency, and the increasing role of technology in building smarter and more resilient retail energy ecosystems.

According to stakeholders at the summit, the Digital Forecourt suite generated strong interest due to its ability to address changing consumer expectations while streamlining retail operations.

The integrated platform is designed to improve payment flexibility, optimise service delivery, and help fuel retailers adapt to an increasingly digital marketplace.

Building Connected Retail Ecosystems

Speaking at the event, Managing Director, Industry Ecosystems at Interswitch, Chinyere Don-Okhuofu, said sustainable business transformation goes beyond simply adopting new technologies.

She stressed the need for intelligent, connected systems that enhance operational performance, improve customer experiences, and unlock long-term business opportunities.

“True business transformation is not simply about adopting technology; it is about creating connected ecosystems that drive efficiency, improve experiences, and unlock new opportunities for growth,” she said.

According to her, businesses must continuously rethink how they engage customers, optimise operations, and deliver value as industries evolve.

She added that Interswitch remains focused on enabling this shift through secure and seamless payment and commerce solutions designed to meet the realities of modern business environments.

Don-Okhuofu also noted that the future of retail energy will increasingly depend on how effectively operators integrate technology into everyday operations to improve convenience, accessibility, and customer satisfaction.

Live Demonstrations Draw Industry Attention

Beyond panel discussions and curated sessions, Interswitch engaged participants through interactive demonstrations at its exhibition stand, where stakeholders experienced the Digital Forecourt ecosystem firsthand.

The “Pay-As-You-Want” feature emerged as a key highlight, showcasing how fuel retailers can offer faster, more personalised, and customer-friendly payment experiences.

According to the company, the demonstrations provided practical insights into how digital infrastructure can improve operational efficiency and unlock growth opportunities within Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector.

The summit also served as a strategic platform for collaboration among stakeholders seeking to modernise the country’s retail energy landscape.

Through its participation, Interswitch reaffirmed its commitment to supporting businesses with the digital infrastructure needed to accelerate innovation, improve operational efficiency, and build more connected commercial experiences for the future.
