Galaxy Backbone (GBB) is advancing Nigeria’s digital transformation with its new 1Government Cloud solution, a unified Infrastructure and Software as a Service (IaaS and SaaS) platform tailored specifically for federal ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs).

This initiative, operational since November of last year, aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at revolutionizing Nigeria’s digital landscape. The 1Government Cloud solution is set to drive economic development by offering secure data storage and streamlined software services through a standardized interface.

Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju, CEO of Galaxy Backbone, highlighted that the introduction of the 1Government Cloud underscores the government’s commitment to a more efficient and agile public sector.

Enhancing Service Delivery and Citizen Engagement

The 1Government Cloud solution is designed to elevate service delivery, productivity, and citizen engagement by leveraging cloud technology to optimize government processes. It adheres to best practices and supports the Federal Civil Service Strategy Implementation Plan 2025 (FCSSIP 25).

The platform emphasizes data sovereignty, security, and consistency across MDAs, ensuring that government operations are sustainable and secure. It aims to promote data localization and encourage public-private partnerships.

Driving Innovation and Efficiency

The solution, already being deployed across various MDAs, supports a range of digital innovations, including Enterprise Content Management, Performance Management, Learning Management, Inter-MDA Communication, File Sharing, Asset Management, Conferencing, and E-Signing.

Since its inception, Galaxy Backbone has played a crucial role in providing digital infrastructure and services, fostering digital transformation through innovative technology solutions. The 1Government Cloud is expected to further these efforts by enhancing government efficiency and supporting Nigeria’s broader digital and economic goals.
