FirstBank Group has announced the appointment of Olukorede Adenowo as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FirstBank UK.

The appointment, effective from November 16, 2023, is contingent upon regulatory approvals. According to the statement, Adenowo, distinguished by exceptional leadership, strategic insight, and a profound understanding of the global financial landscape, brings extensive experience garnered from a successful track record in the banking industry across multiple countries.

Before assuming this role, Adenowo held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria.

Dr Adesola Adeduntan, CEO of FirstBank Group, expressed confidence in Adenowo’s suitability for leading FirstBank UK into its next phase of growth and development, citing his wealth of experience.

Olukorede Adenowo commenced his career at Deloitte Nigeria, earning the designation of Chartered Accountant in 1991. He achieved the status of a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria in 2003 and was honored with a Distinguished Alumnus award from Deloitte Nigeria in 2015. Adenowo is an alumnus of INSEAD and Said Business School, Oxford University, having undergone management training in Leadership at these prestigious institutions.
