The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) have expressed their commitment to fortify their existing collaboration in order to amplify their revenue generation efforts.

This commitment was affirmed during a meeting on Thursday, where the Registrar General/Chief Executive Officer of CAC, Hussaini Magaji, visited the FIRS Executive Chairman, Mr. Zacch Adedeji.

Magaji, highlighting the purpose of the visit, emphasized the aim to solidify the ongoing collaboration between CAC and FIRS. He acknowledged the platform for integration created by CAC, streamlining the registration process.

The Registrar General emphasized the significance of enhanced cooperation and collaboration between the two agencies, both of which play pivotal roles in Nigeria’s economy, particularly in revenue generation.

According to a statement from CAC, Magaji addressed the imperative to capture and formalize a substantial number of unregistered online businesses, aiming to boost the country’s revenue.

In response, FIRS Executive Chairman, Adedeji, underscored the necessity for a robust inter-agency relationship, emphasizing its role in optimizing FIRS performance. The strengthened collaboration is poised to contribute to more effective revenue generation activities for both entities.
