Safaricom has raised the transaction limit for each M-Pesa transaction to KSh 250,000, up from KSh 150,000, following the approval of the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK).

Under these new adjustments, users will now benefit from higher transaction ceilings across various M-Pesa services, including Send Money, Lipa Na M-Pesa Buy Goods, Paybill, and others.

Safaricom’s CEO, Peter Ndegwa, expressed appreciation for the Central Bank of Kenya’s decision to increase M-Pesa transaction limits, emphasizing the added convenience and empowerment this change will provide to both customers and businesses.

“The increased transaction limits are a timely intervention as they will provide customers and businesses with additional convenience when doing business, empowering them to do more from their phones,” Ndegwa noted.

This development comes after CBK’s prior approval on August 14, 2023, to elevate the M-Pesa daily limit to KSh 500,000.

It’s important to highlight that the current maximum transaction fees will continue to apply to the revised transaction limits, including KSh 108 per transaction for Send Money.
