The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) has introduced the Dubai Financial Experts Program, a cutting-edge initiative aimed at nurturing the next generation of Emirati leaders who will innovate within the financial sector both locally and globally.
Developed in collaboration with the Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development (MBRCLD), the program is designed to empower Emiratis with enhanced skills, knowledge, and an entrepreneurial mindset. By focusing on the development of leadership qualities and advanced financial expertise, the initiative seeks to prepare participants to drive transformational change within Dubai’s financial institutions and beyond.
H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, and President of DIFC, underscored the city’s commitment to cultivating homegrown talent. He stressed that Dubai continues to empower its creative Emirati leaders by providing them with world-class knowledge and experiences, in keeping with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.
The program also supports broader strategic goals, including the launch of specialized training initiatives to reinforce the UAE’s position as a global economic hub and achieve the targets set by the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. Mohammad Al Gergawi, Chairman of the Executive Office of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Chairman of MBRCLD, noted that the program embodies Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision by equipping emerging leaders with the capabilities needed to steer transformative projects and drive innovation within key economic sectors.
Essa Kazim, Governor of DIFC, added that the program is tailored to upgrade national talent with the latest tools and insights in financial services and leadership. “This initiative aligns with the DIFC’s 2030 strategy for leading the future of finance, as well as with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33,” he explained.
The program targets UAE nationals aged 25 to 35 with 5 to 10 years of professional experience, particularly those with a background in finance. Ideal candidates will possess strong academic credentials, a proven record of leadership—whether as team leaders or strategic project managers—and an unwavering drive for success. Selection will be based on a comprehensive evaluation of both leadership and financial competencies.
Structured as a comprehensive six-part curriculum, the Dubai Financial Experts Program features specialized courses on leadership and innovation in future financial services, developed in partnership with the University of Oxford and enriched by collaborations in Silicon Valley. Participants will benefit from advanced training, mentorship from industry experts, and practical experience through prestigious job shadowing opportunities at leading financial institutions.
A capstone project, central to the program, will challenge participants to deliver tangible impact and apply their newly acquired knowledge directly to their work environments. In addition, exclusive sessions with top financial and economic leaders will offer further insights, culminating in a graduation ceremony at the Dubai World Trade Centre during the Mohammed bin Rashid Leaders Forum 2025.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development remains dedicated to “Creating Leaders for Tomorrow” by identifying, nurturing, and empowering Emirati talent at all levels. Through specialized programs and targeted initiatives, the Center ensures that emerging leaders are equipped with the diverse skills needed to navigate a rapidly evolving global landscape, adapt with agility, and devise innovative solutions to future challenges.
