Deutsche Bank deploys Farsight AI platform

Deutsche Bank has deployed Farsight, an artificial intelligence platform designed for financial services firms, across its Investment Banking and Capital Markets teams in Europe and North America. The deployment brings specialised AI capabilities into critical banking workflows while keeping sensitive data, proprietary knowledge and workflow activity within the bank’s own technology environment.

The partnership reflects the growing adoption of tailored AI solutions by financial institutions seeking to improve internal processes while maintaining control over confidential information and meeting the operational requirements of regulated banking.

On-premise AI deployment supports data control

Farsight’s on-premise deployment enables Deutsche Bank teams to apply AI to internal data and workflows within the bank’s existing technology infrastructure. This arrangement allows the institution to retain greater control over how sensitive information is accessed and used.

The platform can incorporate the bank’s previous work, internal standards and proprietary data into workflows tailored to the requirements of individual teams. These workflows can reflect established formats, processes and standards, helping bankers generate and refine materials through an automated chat interface that incorporates context and feedback over time.

George Tierney, Managing Director and Global Chief Operating Officer for M&A at Deutsche Bank, said the platform enables teams to apply AI to their specific workflows while maintaining the standards required for client-facing work.

“Our teams have very specific standards for what goes in front of a client, and those standards vary from group to group,” Tierney said. “Farsight gives our teams a way to apply AI to their own workflows and materials while operating within Deutsche Bank’s technology environment. That combination of control and customization is critical to making AI work in a global, regulated enterprise like Deutsche Bank.”

Financial institutions move towards specialised AI workflows

The deployment comes as financial institutions increasingly look beyond standalone AI experiments and general-purpose assistants towards specialised applications integrated into their day-to-day operations.

For regulated organisations, this transition depends partly on the ability to use internal data that may contain confidential information, proprietary business knowledge and sensitive client-related material. Deploying AI within a bank’s own infrastructure can help organisations apply these resources to operational workflows while retaining control over their data.

Farsight’s approach allows teams to use institutional knowledge and established working practices to shape AI-generated outputs, rather than relying exclusively on general-purpose responses. This is particularly relevant to banking activities where the consistency, format and quality of client-facing materials are important.

Farsight aims to embed institutional knowledge into AI

Samir Dutta, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Farsight, said financial institutions have accumulated proprietary data, workflows and professional judgement over decades, making it important for AI systems to reflect how individual organisations operate.

“Banks have spent decades building proprietary data, workflows and judgment that shape how their teams work,” Dutta said. “Running Farsight within a bank’s own infrastructure allows that knowledge to remain inside the institution while becoming part of how teams use AI. By incorporating banker feedback, Farsight can help AI reflect how a bank approaches client work rather than relying solely on general-purpose outputs.”

The platform’s ability to incorporate feedback and adapt to team-specific requirements is intended to make AI-generated materials more consistent with established internal practices. Its deployment within Deutsche Bank also highlights the importance of infrastructure and data governance in introducing AI into highly regulated business environments.

Deutsche Bank deployment expands Farsight’s financial services presence

The Deutsche Bank partnership builds on Farsight’s expanding presence in the financial services sector, where the platform supports teams at some of the world’s largest financial institutions.

Its adoption by Deutsche Bank demonstrates how specialised AI platforms are being integrated into established banking workflows, with a focus on combining automation and institutional knowledge with data control and team-specific requirements.

As financial institutions continue to incorporate AI into core operations, deployment models that address confidentiality, workflow customisation and governance are likely to remain important considerations in enterprise AI adoption.
