BBVA, the Spanish banking giant, is embarking on a strategic transformation by merging its three technology firms into a single entity known as BBVA Technology. With this consolidation, the company is set to benefit from a more strategic approach to its technological initiatives.

BBVA Technology will unite the talents of 3,000 employees from BBVA Next Technologies, BBVA IT España, and Datio, establishing a cohesive entity with offices in Madrid, Barcelona, and Bilbao.

At the core of BBVA Technology’s mission is a heightened emphasis on software development transformation, aligning with the strategic priorities outlined by BBVA Engineering for the years ahead.

This amalgamation is designed to harness and consolidate the technical expertise of the respective teams while offering an extended array of career development prospects for existing staff members. Simultaneously, it aims to attract fresh talent to fortify the organization’s technological capabilities.

BBVA has consistently demonstrated its commitment to technology. Notably, the bank recently launched a dedicated jobs portal with ambitious plans to hire more than 2,600 STEM professionals worldwide this year. This recruitment drive underscores BBVA’s ongoing dedication to advancing its technology-focused initiatives on a global scale.
