Nigerian fintech company BitMigo Technologies has launched VIXA, an artificial intelligence-powered financial platform designed to simplify cross-border cryptocurrency transactions for users across Africa.
The platform allows users to manage supported digital assets through WhatsApp, enabling them to buy, sell, swap, send, receive and withdraw cryptocurrency through conversational interactions rather than navigating conventional crypto exchanges.
According to the company, VIXA connects users to financial infrastructure across 19 African markets, including Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Rwanda, Tanzania and Malawi.
The platform is targeted at Africans who work, travel, trade or maintain financial relationships across multiple countries and need a simpler way to manage digital assets across borders.
For example, a Nigerian travelling to or conducting business in Kenya, Uganda or Rwanda can use VIXA to manage supported digital assets, subject to the services, payment options and regulatory requirements applicable in each market.
AI-driven approach to cross-border payments
VIXA combines conversational AI with stablecoins and local payout infrastructure to simplify cross-border transactions.
Rather than requiring users to navigate multiple exchanges, blockchain networks, wallet addresses and financial applications, the platform allows them to initiate transactions through WhatsApp conversations, review the details and confirm the transaction before execution.
BitMigo said eligible transactions can be completed with zero transfer fees and in as little as 60 seconds, although transaction times and costs may vary depending on the asset, network, payment route and type of transaction.
The company also said VIXA is designed to address some of the challenges associated with manual peer-to-peer cryptocurrency transactions by providing users with competitive exchange rates and an integrated transaction experience.
Platform expands beyond crypto transactions
Beyond cryptocurrency, VIXA is developing access to tokenised equities, potentially allowing users to invest in selected companies across the United States, Europe and Asia.
The company said the planned investment offering could provide access to more than 200 companies, subject to applicable regulatory requirements and market conditions.
VIXA also plans to introduce virtual and physical cards that will allow users to spend from eligible VIXA balances at participating merchants across African markets and online.
The expansion reflects the company’s broader strategy of building a digital financial platform that combines payments, investments and digital assets within a single interface.
Fintech targets Africa’s fragmented financial ecosystem
Saviours Daniel, co-founder of BitMigo Technologies, said simplifying cross-border financial transactions was central to the company’s strategy.
“Africa is one of the most financially fragmented regions in the world. People move between countries, run businesses across borders, receive international income and maintain families in different markets. We believe the financial experience should be much simpler than it is today,” Daniel said.
Oladipo Victor, another co-founder, said VIXA was designed to make digital financial services more accessible by allowing users to interact with the platform through natural conversations.
“You shouldn’t need to understand an exchange, a blockchain network or an off-ramp before you can move your own money. With VIXA, you can simply tell us what you want to do, review the transaction and confirm it,” Victor said.
Built by BitMigo Technologies, VIXA’s long-term objective is to simplify how individuals and businesses move, manage and use digital value across Africa through AI-powered financial services.
As cross-border commerce and digital asset adoption continue to expand across the continent, platforms that combine AI, digital payments, stablecoins and local financial infrastructure could play a growing role in reducing friction in Africa’s fragmented financial ecosystem.
