TeKnowledge and Equinix have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the adoption of secure hybrid and multi-cloud technologies while strengthening AI-ready digital infrastructure across Nigeria and the wider West African region.

The collaboration comes as Nigeria’s digital economy continues to expand, driven by increasing demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence, digital payments and data-driven innovation across both the public and private sectors.

According to the companies, the partnership is designed to help organisations modernise their digital infrastructure while meeting growing requirements for data security, regulatory compliance, data residency and operational resilience.

The alliance combines Equinix’s global network of interconnected data centres and secure digital infrastructure with TeKnowledge’s expertise in designing, deploying and managing artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data management and customer experience solutions.

The companies said the integrated offering will enable enterprises and government institutions to accelerate digital transformation by deploying high-performance digital environments built on local infrastructure and supported by local technical expertise.

By leveraging Equinix’s in-country infrastructure alongside its international connectivity platform, organisations will be better positioned to adopt hybrid and multi-cloud architectures while maintaining compliance with data sovereignty requirements.

Commenting on the partnership, TeKnowledge Chief Executive Officer and President, Aileen Allkins, said organisations across Africa are increasingly seeking digital infrastructure that delivers high performance, security and regulatory compliance while supporting long-term business growth.

She noted that the collaboration with Equinix combines globally recognised digital infrastructure with deep local expertise to help customers accelerate cloud adoption, strengthen operational resilience and unlock new opportunities through artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.

According to Allkins, the partnership is intended to bridge the gap between digital transformation ambitions and practical implementation by providing organisations with secure, scalable and future-ready technology infrastructure.

Also speaking, Managing Director of Equinix West Africa, Wole Abu, welcomed the collaboration, noting that it brings together Equinix’s globally interconnected digital platform, which spans more than 280 data centres and serves over 10,000 customers worldwide.

The partnership underscores the growing focus on expanding resilient digital infrastructure across Africa as organisations increasingly invest in cloud computing, AI capabilities and secure digital ecosystems to support innovation, economic growth and digital competitiveness.
