Tijani, NITDA DG to Lead Discussions at FIN AI Forum Ahead of Silicon Valley Expo

Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, alongside the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, and Lagos State Commissioner for Innovation, Science, and Technology, Olatunbosun Alake, will headline a high-level virtual forum organized by the Foreign Investment Network (FIN).

The session, scheduled for Friday, October 10, 2025, serves as a prelude to the FIN Web Conference & AI Expo 2025, which will take place from November 16 to 18, 2025, at the Computer History Museum in Silicon Valley, California, USA.

According to a statement by the organisers, the virtual event aims to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI), investment, sustainability, and Africa’s digital transformation, while reinforcing the continent’s engagement in the global AI ecosystem.

“This forum provides direct access to investors, policymakers, and innovators in Silicon Valley and showcases Africa’s growing influence in AI, fintech, cybersecurity, sustainability, and digital infrastructure,” the organisers noted.

FIN’s Director of International Communications, Ayo Ayeni, added that the session will bring together global tech leaders, investors, innovators, and policymakers for a “power hour” of insight-driven discussions and strategic engagement.

Prominent global speakers include former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, Hotmail co-founder Sabeer Bhatia, Global AI Strategist and Venture Advisor Mark Minevich, and Chairman of the International Data Center Authority (IDCA) Mehdi Paryavi.

The forum will be hosted by Dalith Steiger, Co-Founder of SwissCognitive and a recognised global AI advocate, who will moderate conversations on AI adoption, digital investment opportunities, and the future of emerging technologies in Africa.

FIN Chairman Dr. Olayinka Fayomi will deliver opening remarks under the theme, “Championing Africa–Silicon Valley Investment Bridges and the Digital Economy.”

The keynote address, “Sovereign AI for Inclusive Growth: A Practical 12-Month Roadmap for Africa’s Digital Economy,”will be delivered by Mark Minevich. Additional keynote sessions will feature Eric Schmidt and Mehdi Paryavi, focusing on “Building AI-Ready Data Centers: Standards, Sustainability, and Sovereign Digital Infrastructure.”

Other distinguished participants include Prabhav Sharma, Wayne Ronhaar, Tim Kline, and Gaurav Dhar, CEO of Marshal Fintech Partners and board member of the MENA Fintech Association.

Also expected are African ICT leaders such as Dr. Nizar Ben Neji, former Tunisian Minister of Communication Technologies; Paula Ingabire, Rwanda’s Minister of ICT and Innovation; William Kabogo Gitau, Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for ICT and Digital Economy; Samuel Nartey George, Ghana’s Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations; Sid Ali Zerrouki, Algeria’s Minister of Post and Telecommunications; and Enzo Di Taranto, President of Xzen Technologies Inc.

Positioned as one of the world’s leading digital economy gatherings, the FIN Web Conference & AI Expo 2025 will convene global leaders, investors, and innovators to shape policy and investment strategies that drive sustainable AI development and inclusive digital growth.
