The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has officially launched its newly redesigned website, marking a significant milestone in its efforts to improve transparency and accessibility for stakeholders.

In a statement issued by the Acting Director of Corporate Communications, Sidi Ali, the CBN announced that the new website, which became operational today, is equipped with advanced features to enhance user experience.

Cutting-Edge Design and Technology

“The new website is powered by a contemporary Web API built on Microsoft .NET Core 8, the latest and most stable version of the framework,” the statement noted. “This development speeds up and simplifies navigation, offering users a seamless browsing experience.”

Designed entirely in-house, the website incorporates a sleek front-end design and robust back-end technology. It is also optimized for mobile devices, ensuring responsive functionality across various platforms and browsers.

The updated platform introduces a broader range of content that reflects the Bank’s diverse mandate, making information more accessible to the public.

Commitment to Transparency

CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso first announced plans for the website’s overhaul during the 30th Nigerian Economic Summit in October. At a summit dinner, he emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in building trust with stakeholders.

“Our new website is designed to improve the flow of information, making our activities more accessible to the people,” Cardoso stated. “We are creating a platform that allows stakeholders to easily track our progress and understand our direction.”

Enhanced Features for Stakeholders

The redesigned website reflects the Bank’s commitment to openness by offering an improved user-friendly experience, greater access to resources, and enhanced tools for navigating its operations.

“This overhaul is a step towards bringing the Central Bank closer to the people,” Cardoso remarked. “We are ensuring that the public has a clear line of sight into our activities, objectives, and achievements.”

A Modern Approach to Engagement

The launch of the revamped website aligns with the CBN’s broader strategy to leverage technology in promoting transparency and strengthening stakeholder trust. This initiative is expected to set a new standard for digital engagement within Nigeria’s financial ecosystem.
