Unified Payment Services Limited has announced the launch of its Payment Terminal Service Aggregator (PTSA) platform, which aims to collaborate with stakeholders to drive the growth of electronic payment transactions across Nigeria.

During a media briefing in Lagos, Unified Payment’s Group Managing Director, Mr. Agada Apochi, highlighted the commencement of PTSA services by the company. He revealed that Unified Payment became the second PTSA in the country following its licensing by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

“As a PTSA, we view our role not as competitors but as enablers within the payment ecosystem,” Apochi stated. “Our PTSA platform is designed for collaboration, fostering growth in Nigeria’s payment services sector.”

Apochi further explained that Unified Payment, as an enabler, aims to assist various industry operators and service providers in offering their services and solutions in compliance with CBN policies and regulations. “We will support the CBN and the government by overseeing transactions at the point of sale (PoS) terminals. Additionally, we aim to help the public address and manage various misconducts that have been a concern for the country and its citizens.”

He emphasized that the company’s focus is on broad collaboration, ensuring no exceptions. “There are currently only two PTSAs in Nigeria. Since obtaining our license, we have been in discussions with the other aggregator to identify areas of collaboration. Our goal is to work together to build a more robust, secure, and resilient ecosystem that meets the needs and aspirations of businesses utilizing our services.”

Apochi concluded by reiterating Unified Payment’s commitment to enhancing the electronic payment landscape in Nigeria through strategic partnerships and comprehensive service offerings.
