Binance, a leading cryptocurrency exchange platform, has forged a partnership with BankerX, a media and technology company specializing in disruptive FinTech and EdTech solutions, to drive financial technology (Fintech) inclusion across Africa.
The collaboration aims to leverage cryptocurrency adoption and enhance financial literacy by drawing on the expertise of Binance Academy and BankerX to provide comprehensive thought leadership.
Binance Academy is a prominent blockchain and cryptocurrency education platform offering a wealth of resources, including over 1,000 articles, glossary entries, and courses covering blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and Web3 technologies.
BankerX, on the other hand, is dedicated to developing innovative FinTech and EdTech solutions to address pressing economic challenges across Africa.
Koshiek Karan, CEO of BankerX, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the remarkable growth of Binance across Africa. He highlighted the importance of trust in the emerging crypto landscape and commended Binance’s commitment to compliance and regulatory standards, which fosters credibility and ensures the protection of users’ assets and interests.
Karan stated, “Binance’s dedication lays a solid foundation for sustainable growth and fosters confidence among users and partners alike.”
Hannes Wessels, Binance South Africa country head, identified Africa’s lag in fintech skills as a result of inadequate infrastructure, complex regulatory environments, and governance deficiencies.
He emphasized the significance of addressing the education gap, particularly the lack of technical and financial literacy, which remains a key challenge. Wessels believes that partnerships like the one with BankerX can play a pivotal role in bridging this gap.
Wessels clarified that the partnership with BankerX is not limited to a rigid training format but rather focuses on continuous education and development through a series of thought leadership initiatives and content pieces.
