CaixaBank, based in Spain, has initiated the creation of a “multi-disciplinary task force” called GenAI, aiming to explore the diverse applications of generative AI (GenAI) to enhance both internal operations and customer-related processes.
Having already integrated AI into areas such as foreign trade and cognitive assistant services, CaixaBank, headquartered in Valencia, is now seeking to unlock the full potential of GenAI across all its business lines.
The task force comprises over 100 employees from CaixaBank and its technological subsidiary, CaixaBank Tech. This collaborative effort aims to discover and develop use cases that promote digital innovation, enhance employee efficiency, and elevate customer satisfaction.
CaixaBank anticipates that the project will facilitate the “streamlining of new software developments” and enhance the processes for analyzing management information.
Banco BPI in Portugal, an entity within the CaixaBank Group, along with Accenture from Dublin, and technology giant Microsoft, are key partners in this endeavor. Microsoft’s involvement will grant CaixaBank access to off-market generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) models within the secure test environment of the company.
Building on the outcomes, CaixaBank plans to implement beneficial use cases across the entire group throughout the upcoming year. This initiative aligns with the bank’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements and harnessing AI capabilities for continual improvement.
