The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is calling on startups and hubs across Nigeria to take part in the 41st edition of the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX).
GITEX is the world’s meeting point for the Global Startup Movement attracting some of the world’s biggest technology mentors, investors and venture capitalists.
GITEX 2021 sponsored by NITDA is taking place from October 17-21, 2021at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
According to Mrs. Hadiza Umar, Head, Corporate Affairs and External Relations Unit, NITDA, The theme of the 41st edition is “Creating a Bolder Digital Future Together.”
Since 2013, Nigeria has featured a strong delegation led by NITDA and this has seen more than 50 startups take part in the GITEX program.
This year, NITDA through its agency, National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (NCAIR) will offer startups opportunities to expand their network while exploring innovative ideas.
The 5-day global tech event boasts more than 150,000 trade visitors, 4,500 exhibitors and over 400 active investors all coming from more than 140 countries.
Startups addressing the following specific problems can apply:
- Cyber Security and Resilience
- Transportation
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Augmented Analytics
- Digital Economies
- Fifth-generation wireless technology (5G)
- Blockchain technology
- Cloud and Edge computing
Interested startups and hubs may apply for the Pitch Deck for the GFS organized by NITDA. The deadline for application for GITEX 2021 is Friday, July 16, 2021.
