Yango Group, a global tech company, has launched Yango Ventures, a corporate venture fund aimed at empowering early-stage startups across sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. This initiative is set to provide much-needed funding, mentorship, and access to Yango’s extensive network, enabling startups to scale and drive meaningful impact in their communities.

Fueling Innovation in Africa’s Startup Ecosystem

In Zambia, Yango Ventures is particularly focused on accelerating local innovation and entrepreneurship by providing startups with the resources and strategic guidance necessary for success. According to Daniil Shuleyko, CEO of Yango Group, this initiative goes beyond traditional investment:

“This isn’t just about funding—it’s about creating an ecosystem where startups can truly thrive.”

The fund kicks off with an initial $20 million, targeting early-stage startups (Seed to Series B) in sectors such as online-to-offline (O2O) services, B2B SaaS, and fintech. However, Yango Ventures plans to scale its capital base, reinforcing its long-term commitment to supporting digital transformation and economic development in Africa.

Strategic Support Beyond Capital

Backed by seasoned experts with experience in mobility, entertainment, fintech, and AI, Yango Ventures provides startups with more than just financial backing. Kabanda Chewe, Yango Zambia’s Country Head, highlighted the immense entrepreneurial potential in Zambia, emphasizing Yango’s role as a strategic partner rather than just an investor.

To foster sustainable growth, Yango Ventures will introduce networking events, mentorship programs, and partnerships with educational institutions, equipping future entrepreneurs with practical skills and industry insights. Initiatives like Yango Education, Yango Fellowship, and urban mobility hackathons will offer startups hands-on guidance, ensuring they receive the tools necessary to succeed.

A Global Initiative with a Local Impact

At its core, Yango Ventures is building a future-driven, innovation-centric ecosystem that combines advanced technology, business expertise, and deep community engagement. By investing in high-potential startups and equipping them with strategic resources, Yango is laying the foundation for the next generation of tech-driven enterprises across Africa and beyond.
