Binance Pay has strengthened its presence in South Africa through a new partnership with Zapper, one of the country’s leading QR-code payment providers.
The integration brings more than 31,000 additional merchants onto the Binance Pay network, enabling South Africans to use cryptocurrencies for everyday transactions ranging from meals and retail purchases to fuel and online bookings.
Binance Pay, a contactless and borderless payment feature within the Binance app, allows users to send, receive, and spend digital assets instantly without gas fees. The platform supports over 400 cryptocurrencies for personal transactions and more than 100 digital assets for merchant payments. Globally, it has already been adopted by more than 45 million users.

Zapper’s wide footprint—spanning restaurants, retailers, fuel stations, and online stores—makes it an ideal partner for expanding crypto adoption. Well-known national chains such as KFC, Wimpy, Mugg & Bean, Dis-Chem, Baby City, Coricraft, Yuppiechef, and FlySafair, as well as fuel providers including Total and Sasol, are among the merchants now accepting crypto via Binance Pay.
To mark the rollout, Binance Pay has launched a 50% cashback promotion for transactions made at participating Zapper merchants starting September 9. The initiative aims to encourage users to trial the service while showcasing the growing role of digital assets in day-to-day commerce.
This partnership signals another step forward in making cryptocurrency payments mainstream in South Africa, combining Binance’s global reach with Zapper’s local trust and accessibility.
