The Board of Directors of Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) Nigeria has announced the appointment of Bayo Ajayi as the new Chief Executive Officer, following approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Emrie Brown, RMB Group CEO and Chairman of RMB Nigeria’s Board, expressed his confidence in the new leadership, stating, “On behalf of the RMB Nigeria Board of Directors, I am pleased to officially welcome Bayo Ajayi as CEO. With his extensive experience in banking, we are confident in his ability to collaborate effectively with clients and drive Nigeria’s economic growth.”

In response to his appointment, Ajayi expressed his appreciation, saying, “It’s a privilege to step into this role at such a significant time for RMB Nigeria. I look forward to working with our resilient clients and leading our team in fostering sustainable economic development and innovation.”

Ajayi brings over 25 years of leadership expertise within Nigeria and across Africa, having previously served as Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer at RMB Nigeria. His leadership track record, marked by consistent success, positions him well to guide the bank toward achieving its long-term goals.

A graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University with a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, Ajayi has also completed senior management programs globally. He is a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK.

This leadership transition highlights RMB Nigeria’s commitment to nurturing talent and ensuring sustainable growth. The bank remains focused on delivering innovative financial solutions that support business expansion and economic development across Nigeria.
