Pillarcraft Cloud Solutions has introduced a new RegTech solution aimed at helping businesses meet the Nigeria Revenue Service’s (NRS) evolving electronic invoicing requirements, reinforcing the country’s push toward regulatory compliance and digital tax transformation.
In a statement released on Sunday, the firm announced the launch of UsawaConnect, a compliance technology platform designed to simplify adherence to Nigeria’s emerging regulatory framework for e-invoicing and regulatory reporting.
According to the company, the platform is built to support organisations navigating a new phase of financial compliance, where invoices must be digitally validated, assigned unique identifiers, and transmitted through approved government systems. It noted that many businesses are still unprepared for this transition, increasing their exposure to regulatory risk management challenges.
The company explained that the shift represents a major overhaul of traditional invoicing processes, introducing stricter regulatory requirements that mandate structured, validated, and electronically submitted invoices before they are recognised as legitimate. This transformation underscores the growing importance of compliance automation and regulatory compliance software in modern business operations.
Pillarcraft highlighted that the rollout of the e-invoicing regime will follow a phased approach. Large taxpayers are expected to lead adoption, while medium-sized enterprises will be integrated into the system by July 2026. This phased implementation aligns with broader efforts to strengthen regulatory monitoring and improve transparency across Nigeria’s tax ecosystem.
The firm warned that failure to comply could result in invoice rejection, delayed payments, operational inefficiencies, and increased scrutiny during compliance audits. These risks further emphasise the need for effective risk mitigationstrategies and robust compliance management systems.
To address these challenges, UsawaConnect acts as a bridge between existing enterprise systems and the NRS platform. The solution integrates seamlessly with accounting software, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and point-of-sale systems, enabling businesses to generate compliant invoices automatically and transmit them in line with regulatory reporting software standards.
“This approach eliminates the need for extensive system overhauls while ensuring full regulatory compliance,” the company stated, noting that the platform enhances compliance workflow efficiency without disrupting business operations.
Pillarcraft also underscored the critical role of professionals in driving adoption. Accountants, tax practitioners, and technology consultants are expected to play a central role in implementation, reflecting the growing demand for compliance consulting and regulatory advisory services within the RegTech industry.
Speaking on the development, Chief Executive Officer of Pillarcraft Accounting & Cloud Solutions, Bayode Agbi, said: “E-invoicing is not something most businesses can implement independently. Advisors will be at the core of this transition. UsawaConnect empowers them to deliver efficient compliance management while enabling businesses to meet regulatory requirements seamlessly.”
The company further announced a partner programme under the platform, allowing accounting firms and consultants to provide implementation support and ongoing compliance services. This initiative is expected to unlock new revenue streams while strengthening the ecosystem for RegTech innovations in Nigeria.
Designed to support organisations of all sizes, UsawaConnect caters to large enterprises preparing for early adoption, mid-sized firms approaching compliance deadlines, and SMEs seeking scalable compliance software solutions.
“UsawaConnect integrates seamlessly into existing workflows, reducing operational disruption while ensuring end-to-end regulatory compliance monitoring,” the company added.
The platform is now available nationwide, with Pillarcraft urging businesses to begin onboarding processes early to avoid compliance gaps as enforcement timelines approach.
Earlier in January, Pillarcraft Cloud Solutions was accredited as a System Integrator for Nigeria’s e-invoicing initiative, a move that highlights the government’s commitment to strengthening regulatory enforcement and advancing digital tax administration.
The accreditation, granted by the Nigeria Revenue Service in collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency, reinforces the role of RegTech solutions in supporting national compliance objectives.
The NRS has also confirmed a phased rollout of its E-Invoicing & Electronic Fiscal System, also known as the Merchant Buyer Solution, which went live for large taxpayers on August 1, 2025, following pilot phases and stakeholder engagement.
Medium-sized businesses with annual turnover between ₦1 billion and ₦5 billion are expected to begin onboarding in 2026, with full implementation by July 2026 and enforcement scheduled for early 2027. Smaller businesses will follow in subsequent phases, with rollout beginning in 2027.
The agency has advised businesses to assess their classification and actively participate in onboarding processes, noting that enforcement will commence only after pilot and review phases are completed—further reinforcing the importance of proactive compliance tracking and regulatory change management strategies.
