The Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) has reaffirmed its dedication to supporting the Federal Government’s priorities, particularly focusing on enhancing economic growth and creating employment opportunities across the nation.

Jane Egerton-Idehen, Chief Executive Officer of NIGCOMSAT, emphasized in a statement on Monday that the organization is strategically aligning its operations with the national objectives set by President Ahmed Tinubu. She highlighted that achieving these goals, particularly in promoting economic growth and development, requires coordinated efforts that include accelerating industrialization through the digital economy.

Egerton-Idehen pointed out that NIGCOMSAT has already launched several initiatives aimed at driving job creation and fostering innovation. Among these is the NIGCOMSAT Acceleration Programme, which collaborates with startups and enterprises to encourage digital entrepreneurship and contribute to the broader economic agenda.

“At NIGCOMSAT, we are deeply committed to supporting the Nigerian Government’s eight Presidential Priorities, with a strong focus on economic growth and job creation,” said Egerton-Idehen. “Promoting economic development through job creation, ensuring food security, and eradicating poverty are ambitious goals that require a multifaceted approach, including the rapid industrialization facilitated by the digital economy. Each week, we work diligently to advance this vision through our strategic pillars at NIGCOMSAT, ensuring that our initiatives are fully in sync with these national priorities.”

In addition, Egerton-Idehen revealed that NIGCOMSAT is collaborating with rural network providers to expand digital access to underserved regions. This initiative is aimed at integrating these communities into the digital economy, thereby supporting local businesses, fostering job creation, and contributing to poverty alleviation.

“This commitment underpins NIGCOMSAT’s partnerships to extend digital access in underserved rural areas, enabling local businesses to engage with the digital economy, generate employment, and combat poverty,” she concluded.
