The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has solidified a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Communication Innovation and Digital Economy (MoCIDE) to intensify the fight against corruption through the utilization of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI).

This collaboration was formalized during a courtesy visit by ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, to the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijjani.

Recognizing the indispensable role of DPI in combating corruption and promoting transparency and accountability in the public sector, ICPC is determined to harness this innovative technology to advance its anti-corruption agenda.

Dr. Aliyu, the ICPC Chairman, remarked, “Through our collaboration with MoCIDE, ICPC will harness the potential of DPI to bolster public registries and establish an environment where corruption cannot thrive. By leveraging cutting-edge digital solutions, our aim is to institute a robust framework that leaves no room for the diversion of public funds or the concealment of illicit gains.”

He continued, “Furthermore, in line with our statutory mandate outlined in Section 6, ICPC will offer expert guidance and oversight to ensure the effective deployment of DPI-based solutions to eradicate corruption and unethical practices at all levels of government. We are unwavering in our commitment to drive systemic reforms that uphold integrity, transparency, and ethical behavior across all sectors.”

Dr. Aliyu emphasized, “The impact of this partnership extends beyond anti-corruption endeavors. By enhancing transparency and accountability in the public sector through DPI, we anticipate significant enhancements in the ease of doing business, economic growth, and job creation. Moreover, by bolstering the security of digital systems, we elevate Nigeria’s standing on the global stage, attracting foreign investment and fostering sustainable development.”

“As Nigeria’s premier anti-corruption agency, ICPC is fully devoted to realizing a corruption-free society. We call upon all stakeholders – government institutions, private sector organizations, civil society groups, and citizens – to unite with us in this noble cause. Together, we can construct a future where integrity, transparency, and accountability form the bedrock of our nation’s advancement.”
