FCMB Welcomes Ademola Adebise to Board of Directors

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has announced the appointment of Ademola Adebise to its board of directors, further enhancing its leadership team.

Adebise, a highly respected figure with over 30 years in the Nigerian financial sector, joins FCMB following his recent role as Managing Director of Wema Bank Plc. His appointment, which has been approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria, is a notable addition to FCMB’s board.

In a statement, FCMB highlighted Adebise’s extensive experience across various financial sectors. He currently chairs the Board of Family Homes Funds Limited, a position appointed by the federal government. His career includes significant roles at Chartered Bank, Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System Plc, and Accenture, as well as board positions at AIICO Insurance, AIICO Capital, and Duchess International Hospital.

Adebise holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Lagos and an MBA from Lagos Business School. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Bankers. His executive education includes programs at the University of Cambridge and Harvard Business School.

In addition to this leadership enhancement, FCMB is advancing gender equality in Nigeria’s business sector through its SheVentures programme. The bank supports female entrepreneurs with interest-free loans of up to N10 million and tailored assistance in the export and agricultural sectors, aiming to create a more inclusive economic environment.
