President Bola Tinubu has designated Engineer Bisoye Coker-Odusote as the Acting Director-General (DG) of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

In a statement released on Tuesday (August 22, 20923), presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale revealed that Coker-Odusote’s initial appointment will span 90 days, commencing from August 24, 2023.

Subsequently, following the initial three months, a full four-year term will commence for Coker-Odusote as the substantive NIMC DG, starting from November 24, 2023.

The President has also instructed the commencement of a 90-day pre-retirement leave for the outgoing NIMC DG, Engr Aliyu Aziz, starting from August 24, 2023. This will lead to his formal retirement from service on November 24, 2023.

Furthermore, the statement conveyed that President Tinubu has sanctioned the appointment of Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub to assume the role of Director of the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC). This appointment comes in the wake of the conclusion of the former DTAC Director/CEO, Dr. Pius Osunyikanmi’s tenure.
