Hussaini Magaji, the Registrar General of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), has announced that the commission is intensifying its regulatory measures on registered entities to ensure they uphold service quality standards.
Addressing stakeholders during a one-day familiarization session in Abuja, Magaji emphasized the need for registered entities to fulfill their obligations effectively.
“Since assuming office, we have encountered compliance challenges among registered entities. There exists a significant disparity between the registration process and adherence to post-registration requirements,” Magaji remarked.
He highlighted the commission’s initiatives aimed at establishing a robust legal framework to govern the activities of registered entities. Magaji stressed the importance of effective regulation in aligning with the commission’s objectives.
“To bridge this gap, we have implemented various interventions to establish a reliable regulatory framework. However, effective implementation of regulations necessitates collective effort,” Magaji added.
Magaji also revealed ongoing efforts to enhance the Companies Registration Portal (CRP) by collaborating with software vendors. The aim is to address operational inefficiencies and streamline service delivery processes to eliminate delays.
“We are actively engaging with software vendors to address critical areas requiring immediate attention. Optimizing the CRP’s functionality will resolve issues contributing to service delays,” Magaji affirmed.
The CAC’s commitment to strengthening regulations underscores its dedication to fostering an environment conducive to business growth and ensuring registered entities meet prescribed standards of operation.
