Huawei Cloud Unveils Big Data and DevOps Solutions in Kenya to Accelerate Digital Transformation

Huawei Cloud has expanded its footprint in Kenya with the launch of its Big Data tools and the CodeArts DevOps platform, aimed at accelerating innovation and supporting businesses across key sectors.

The solutions were unveiled at the Huawei Cloud TechWave Kenya Day in Nairobi, under the theme “Innovate Now, Ignite the Future.” The event brought together stakeholders from government, finance, e-commerce, media, and ICT to explore how advanced cloud and AI technologies can drive Kenya’s digital economy.

Speaking at the launch, Frank Shi, Managing Director of Huawei Cloud Kenya, highlighted the company’s 27-year presence in the country and reaffirmed its commitment to enabling digital growth. “We are moving beyond traditional cloud services to embed artificial intelligence into every system. Now is the right time for Kenya to harness these technologies for growth,” he said.

One of the key highlights was CodeArts, Huawei’s integrated DevOps platform featuring 28 tools designed to streamline software development. According to Rex Xiao, Huawei Cloud’s Chief Architect, CodeArts improves efficiency by automating testing and deployment. He cited a case in the Philippines where a company achieved a tenfold increase in efficiency through the platform.

Industry leaders also stressed the transformative potential of big data, AI, and DevOps across sectors such as agriculture, finance, and logistics. Timothy Oriedo, CEO of Predictive Analytics Lab, noted that these tools enable smarter and faster decision-making by converting vast datasets into actionable insights. Meanwhile, Ishaq Kassam of FinSense Africa emphasized the growing importance of DevSecOps, which integrates development, security, and operations into digital processes.

Huawei Cloud plans to deepen collaboration with local businesses, developers, and educational institutions to strengthen Kenya’s technology ecosystem. By combining cloud, AI, big data, and DevOps, the company aims to lower operational costs for businesses, foster innovation, and position Kenya as a competitive technology hub in Africa.
