This 3-year agreement will increase Egyptian exports in IT products and services

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency and PepsiCo Egypt just signed a cooperation agreement to expand their regional shared service operations in PepsiCo’s Cairo Business Services (CBS) Hub.

The agreement was signed by Amr Mahfouz (ITIDA CEO) and Mohamed Shelbaya (PepsiCo Egypt CEO) signed the agreement in a ceremony witnessed by Amr Talaat, the Minister for  Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).

This 3-year agreement will increase Egyptian exports in IT products and services, particularly BPO and other shared services, through a collaboration with PepsiCo Egypt to expand service delivery to different markets in the Cairo Hub. This agreement will provide companies with trained manpower creating 200 new opportunities for young Egyptians at the least.

Talaat further pointed out that MCIT supports Egypt’s PepsiCo as a hub delivering BPO services across its different branches. He pointed out that the new partnership will create job opportunities for the country’s youth in part of an ambitious strategy empowering and training young people in languages and digital tools that compete in the global labor market.

Nagia El Haraki, the Cairo Business Services, disclosed that PepsiCo Egypt has been offering shared services since 2019. Cairo Hub will stand out as one of their main hubs delivering services across the Middle East, Africa, and Pakistan region. She pointed out that the company plans on doubling the number of employees in the next three years while hiring a highly qualified workforce specialized in marketing, sales, HR & supply chain.
