Indian Government Partners with Paytm to Strengthen Fintech and Regulatory Support for Startups

India’s Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Paytm, a leading fintech company, to accelerate the growth of startups in the country. This collaboration is set to enhance fintech innovation, strengthen regulatory compliance, and expand opportunities for emerging businesses in the financial sector.

Under the agreement, Paytm will provide startups with mentorship, infrastructure support, market access, and funding opportunities, equipping them with the necessary tools to scale their businesses. Additionally, the partnership will facilitate regulatory guidance through specialized workshops featuring key industry stakeholders and government representatives.

As part of the initiative, startups will also gain compliance assistance, access to incubation programs, and direct connections with investors, helping them navigate regulatory frameworks and secure funding for expansion.

DPIIT Joint Secretary, Shri Sanjiv, emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating, “This collaboration with Paytm is a major step toward strengthening India’s startup ecosystem. By leveraging Paytm’s fintech expertise and infrastructure, we aim to help entrepreneurs overcome challenges, scale their ventures, and contribute to India’s emergence as a global innovation hub.”
