Visa Extends Click to Pay Across Asia-Pacific to Boost Secure Digital Payments

Visa has expanded its Click to Pay service across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, aiming to simplify online checkout experiences while enhancing security and efficiency for both consumers and merchants.

The solution eliminates the need for customers to manually input card details by enabling them to access their tokenised payment information using either a registered mobile number or email alias. According to Visa, this not only streamlines transactions but also reduces cart abandonment, with merchants reporting an average 2.5% increase in successful payment rates.

Designed to be browser- and device-agnostic, Click to Pay also integrates biometric authentication through passkeys, offering a level of convenience comparable to contactless payments.

TR Ramachandran, Head of Product and Solutions for APAC at Visa, highlighted the importance of partnerships in driving adoption:
“Through strategic collaborations with 2C2P, Adyen, AsiaPay, and Worldpay, we are enabling merchants to increase sales, empowering banks to strengthen customer engagement, and helping consumers enjoy quicker, secure checkouts.”

Visa’s expansion of Click to Pay underscores its broader commitment to advancing digital payment innovation across APAC, as the region continues to witness rapid e-commerce growth and evolving consumer expectations.
