Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), Qatar’s leading digital bank, has announced the launch of the “Request to Pay” feature on its Fawran instant payment service, accessible through the QIB Mobile App. This innovative addition underscores QIB’s commitment to delivering advanced financial solutions and enhancing customer convenience.

The Fawran Request to Pay service allows customers to instantly request a payment from any registered Fawran user via the QIB Mobile App. By entering the payer’s alias and the required amount, the payment request is sent through Fawran to the payer at any bank in Qatar. Once the payer approves, the transfer is completed instantly, ensuring a seamless and efficient transaction process.

Aligned with Qatar’s Third Financial Sector Strategy, the Request to Pay feature integrates advanced security protocols and enhances accessibility, supporting Qatar’s vision of becoming a leader in secure digital banking and financial services. This strategic initiative aims to help customers manage their finances more effectively by streamlining the payment request and receipt process.

Commenting on the new feature, D Anand, QIB’s General Manager – Personal Banking Group, stated: “We are pleased to introduce the Request to Pay feature, which further enhances customer convenience. This addition empowers our customers and reinforces our commitment to delivering innovative solutions that meet their evolving financial needs, offering them speed, convenience, and greater control and flexibility.”

The QIB Mobile App is available on the App Store, Google Play, and Huawei AppGallery. Customers can easily self-register using their active ATM/Debit Card number and PIN. The app provides full control over accounts, cards, and transactions, allowing users to fulfill all their banking requirements remotely. Additionally, QIB customers can open new accounts, obtain personal financing or credit cards, and open additional accounts through the QIB Mobile App.
