Emirates NBD has joined forces with the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) to launch the ‘National Digital Talent Incubator’ program, aimed at fostering the next generation of fintech talent in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In partnership with DIFC, the incubator program will make use of DIFC’s venture building platform, Launchpad, and will benefit from support provided by a network of prominent technology partners including Visa, Microsoft, and Dell Technologies.
The initiative will feature two cohorts per year, each comprising three to six fintech startups founded and led by UAE nationals. Over the span of an eight-week program, participants will gain valuable insights from venture building and innovation experts associated with DIFC Launchpad. Additionally, they will receive mentorship and one-on-one coaching sessions from founders of leading fintech scaleups in the UAE. Furthermore, the program will provide participants with access to relevant corporations, government bodies, and capital within the UAE.
Miguel Rio Tinto, Group Chief Digital and Information Officer at Emirates NBD, emphasized the program’s distinctive approach. Unlike many incubator programs that primarily focus on driving product innovation, the ‘National Digital Talent Incubator’ program has been meticulously designed to empower participants in a broader sense. This includes expanding their skillset, building valuable networks, understanding the critical trends shaping the economy, and creating businesses that have a significant impact on both the local and global economy. In essence, it equips participants with the tools and support needed to transform their ideas into impactful innovations and guide their growth towards scalability.
