Mondu, the Berlin-based B2B buy now, pay later (BNPL) startup, has received approval and licensing from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and is set to commence operations with 16 British clients.

This expansion into the UK follows recent moves into the Netherlands and Austria, where Mondu offers a range of services including MonduOnline B2B BNPL for e-commerce checkout and its newly introduced MonduSell for multichannel sales, featuring flexible payment terms of 30, 45, 60, and 90 days.

In addition to the UK launch, Mondu is introducing its services to the French market, with a focus on buyers, aligning with its UK expansion.

To mark its UK debut, Mondu has established an office in London and appointed Roger De’Ath, the former UK country manager for TrueLayer, as its managing director.

Roger De’Ath expressed the company’s readiness to collaborate with a variety of UK-based businesses, stating, “There is a growing demand for consumer-like experiences in B2B, and with Mondu’s new solutions like Digital Trade Account, businesses can empower their customers to make purchases and payments at their convenience. This translates to higher conversion rates, increased order value, and growth for all businesses.”

Among the initial 16 companies partnering with Mondu in the UK are PCSpecialist (a technology provider), Hughes Trade (an electrical specialist), Clooper (a business travel provider), Sera Technology (specializing in lighting), and Raw Sport (a sports nutrition company). Other clients operate in software, business leasing, and restaurant supplies industries. This expansion marks an exciting development for Mondu, enabling the company to deliver its innovative B2B BNPL solutions to a wider audience.
