Bank of America Unveils GenAI Assistant for Global Payment Solutions

Bank of America has introduced Ask Global Payment Solutions (AskGPS), a generative AI-powered assistant designed to enhance efficiency and client service within its Global Payment Solutions (GPS) division, which serves more than 40,000 business clients worldwide.

Developed in-house, AskGPS has been trained on over 3,200 internal documents—including product guides, term sheets, and FAQs—enabling it to transform vast institutional knowledge into real-time, actionable intelligence.

“AskGPS turns institutional knowledge into real-time intelligence,” said Mark Monaco, head of GPS at Bank of America. “It’s more than a search tool—it’s a strategic engine, helping our teams respond faster and deliver the kind of clarity and advice clients expect in today’s environment.”

Previously, resolving complex client inquiries could take staff up to an hour and often required coordination with product specialists across different regions and time zones. With AskGPS, those same tasks can now be completed almost instantly, significantly reducing turnaround time and enhancing client experience.

Jarrett Bruhn, head of Data & AI for GPS, underscored the broader impact of the technology:

“AskGPS is a bold leap forward in how we harness GenAI across the enterprise. By turning static content into dynamic intelligence, we’re not just improving access—we’re transforming how our teams learn, respond, and lead with insight.”

The new platform builds on Bank of America’s suite of AI-driven tools within GPS, which already includes CashPro Chat and Forecasting, as well as Intelligent Receivables—all aimed at helping businesses manage cash flow, predict needs, and streamline receivables.

With AskGPS, Bank of America positions itself at the forefront of AI-powered financial services, leveraging generative AI not only to improve internal efficiency but also to deliver greater transparency, speed, and intelligence to corporate clients navigating an increasingly complex payments landscape.
