The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has introduced the beta version of its database portal, aimed at providing a unified platform for accessing and visualizing macroeconomic data. This initiative is geared towards meeting data requests from the general public and supporting research endeavors.
The portal, organized to streamline access, categorizes data into five key economic sectors: external sector, financial sector, fiscal sector, monetary sector, and real sector, along with survey-based indicators. It encompasses a comprehensive range of 255 monthly and 86 quarterly time series data, sourced not only from the BoG but also from other essential stakeholder institutions.
In a statement, the BoG emphasized that the database portal serves as a crucial resource for analysts, researchers, policymakers, and the public at large. It assures regular updates and revisions of data in accordance with the Data Release Calendar, as published on the portal.
This innovative platform reflects the BoG’s commitment to transparency, accessibility, and data-driven decision-making in the realm of macroeconomic analysis and policymaking. Users can now leverage this centralized repository to extract insights, monitor economic trends, and inform informed decision-making processes.
