Absa Bank Ghana Appoints Adolph Kpegah as Interim Managing Director

Absa Bank Ghana LTD has announced the appointment of Adolph Kpegah as its Interim Managing Director. Mr. Kpegah will assume this temporary role until the comprehensive process for selecting and obtaining approval for a permanent Managing Director is concluded.

The departure of the former Managing Director, Abena Osei-Poku, was made public on September 20, 2023. Her resignation was submitted as she pursues a career opportunity beyond the Absa Group.

Adolph Kpegah, who has been with the bank since 2008, has served as the Chief Risk Officer since November 2018. His extensive experience spans various areas, including business development, relationship management, and credit risk management in segments such as Consumer Banking, Business Banking, Treasury, and Corporate & Investment Banking.

Mr. Kpegah holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with Statistics from the University of Ghana. He furthered his education by earning an MSc. in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance from the Ghana Institute of Public Administration (GIMPA). Additionally, he possesses a certificate in Advanced Commercial Lending from the IFS School of Finance in London.

The board is committed to ensuring a seamless transition under Mr. Kpegah’s interim leadership, guiding Absa Bank Ghana through the upcoming strategic phase.
