In a major leap towards digital financial inclusion, e& Egypt has launched an instant international money transfer service through its e& Cash digital wallet, revolutionizing how remittances are received in Egypt. This innovation enables customers to receive funds securely and instantly from the UAE and Saudi Arabia, eliminating the need for intermediaries or branch visits.
This pioneering move makes e& Egypt the first within the e& Group’s regional network to introduce such a service, reflecting the company’s commitment to financial innovation and aligning with the Central Bank of Egypt’s broader mandate to promote cashless transactions and economic digitization.
The solution, developed in collaboration with Banque du Caire, e& Egypt’s banking partner, offers seamless access to digital financial services, particularly benefiting the millions of Egyptians reliant on remittances from family abroad. Through a single-tap feature, users can instantly receive funds, bypassing the delays and inefficiencies of traditional remittance channels.
Ahmed Yehia, CEO of e& Financial Technology and Digital Applications, emphasized the transformative nature of the launch.
“This new capability is a milestone in our mission to provide secure, fast, and accessible financial solutions,” he said. “By simplifying remittances and integrating them into a digital ecosystem, we are advancing our commitment to financial inclusion, compliance innovation, and user trust.”
Yehia noted that beyond speed, the initiative also strengthens e& Egypt’s position as a key driver of digital financial transformation in the region. The platform is designed to align with regulatory compliance standards, ensure secure onboarding, and offer users reliable cross-border financial services with full transparency.
The service is now live for all e& Cash wallet users in Egypt. As part of the launch, customers stand a chance to win up to EGP 1 million in prizes, enhancing user engagement and incentivizing adoption.
Looking ahead, e& Egypt plans to expand the digital remittance corridor beyond the UAE and Saudi Arabia, aiming to simplify access for more diaspora communities and their families in Egypt.
This move underscores the growing relevance of Regulatory Technology (RegTech) solutions in the cross-border payments space—facilitating compliance, fraud detection, and secure financial transactions while boosting accessibility for underserved populations.
By embedding digital remittance services into its secure wallet ecosystem, e& Egypt is not only modernizing the way money moves but also reshaping financial access across borders, bridging gaps, and empowering communities through technology.
