Arivu and Tembekasua are collaborating to create a transformative solution for sustainable and compliant agricultural trade in Africa.  The integration of Arivu’s EUDR Digital PassportTM solution with the Tembekasua Decentralized Marketplace platform enables smallholder farmers and agri-retailers to obtain certification for their agricultural commodity products.  By utilizing EUDR Digital PassportsTM, the supply chain data and verification of deforestation-free land can be securely recorded and easily accessed on Tembekasua’s Marketplace platform, ensuring transparency and trust in the agricultural trade process.

One of the primary focuses of the collaboration is to support smallholder farmers. Tembekasua’s platform is designed to empower marginalized farmers, and by incorporating Arivu’s incentivization model, where companies purchasing passports contribute to royalty payments for farmers, the collaboration can further support the livelihoods of these farmers. This alignment with sustainable practices and social impact can attract more companies and consumers who are eager to support ethical and environmentally responsible agricultural products.

Moreover, the collaboration facilitates market access for African agricultural products in the EU and other markets.  By integrating Arivu’s EUDR Digital PassportTM into the Tembekasua Marktplace, farmers and commodity producers and packers can ensure their products meet EU Deforestation Regulations, making them attractive to European buyers who need regulatory compliance and prioritize sustainable sourcing.  This opens up new opportunities for African farmers to access international markets while adhering to the required compliance standards.

Overall, the joint efforts of Tembekasua and Arivu aim to empower smallholder farmers, promote sustainable practices, and create a transparent and compliant agricultural trade environment, ultimately benefiting the agricultural sector in Africa and supporting its growth and development.

Kelvin Tersoo, Founder and CEO of Tembekasua said: “We are delighted to partner with Arivu to help smallholder farmers, vendors and exporters in Africa with EU Deforestation Regulation compliance and to offer verified and accurate ESG reporting.  These combined capabilities will making Tembekasua a magnet for African trade of commodities into Europe.  Our combined capabilities are a game-changer for accelerating intra-Africa and international commodity trade in Africa.”

“We are excited to introduce Arivu’s EUDR Digital PassportTM solution to help businesses meet their EUDR obligations efficiently and effectively. Our platform simplifies the compliance process, reduces costs, and fosters transparency, benefiting both businesses and smallholder farmers.”
