Important Info
- Nominations are open until 31st March 2022.
- Candidates must be nominated by peers or clients
- Self-nominations are not permitted
- Nominators must take action to ensure the quality of their nomination.
- Judges are not eligible for nomination.
- Judges who have employees, direct reports and/or colleagues in the nomination pool are abstained from scoring those nominations.
- The nominees score will not be affected based on a judge abstaining.
- The research team will notify nominees if they are disqualified based on the above criteria not being met.
Criteria for Nominations:
- To be selected as a qualified nominee, the company must demonstrate how they are utilizing innovative regtech solutions to address real challenges by improving business processes, enable growth and/or improve customer experience.
- Nominees can also show how they are disrupting an industry through the use of digital transformation process, by using regtech in a way that is uncommon and/or innovative.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for Africa focused RegTech providers with innovative solutions aimed at addressing real ‘pain-points’ that deliver business value, whether by creating competitive advantage, optimizing business processes, enabling growth or improving relationships with customers, financial institutions and regulators.
Evaluation Criteria:
- Our dedicated research team will assess all nomination information presented.
- The team gather information independently from a variety of publicly accessible sources, which are assessed alongside any material supplied by a nominating party.
- The research team casts their final judgement, based on various criteria including but not limited to product innovation, impact, size and scope of problem addressed, online reputation and clients feedback.

- An extensive panel of judges would review the information submitted by the research team on the nomination application and score the nominee based on the following criteria:
- Innovation with deep local knowledge
- Process efficiency and optimization
- Size and scale of the problem being solved
- Impact of the technology innovation deployed
- Addressing real ‘pain-points’ of either regulators, financial institutions or consumers
- Cost effectiveness
- Final top scoring nominees are announced.
- The selected companies are recognized along side peers, as being one of the many regtech innovators in the continent.
- To be selected on the list means they are acknowledged and marked for excellence.
- It is an honour for the selected companies to showcase their product/project offerings and the great team behind them.
- The selected companies will be featured in various business publications and on social media following the release of the report.
- All nominees will be notified of qualification status.
