With over two decades of experience in global financial services across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Mitesh is poised to play a critical role in guiding the company’s growth and ensuring its long-term financial stability.

Mitesh’s previous roles at Citi provide him with a strong foundation for his new position. At Citi, he served as CFO for the Middle East and Africa, where he managed financial operations across 29 countries. He also held the role of CFO for Global Equities Sales and Trading, overseeing the financial aspects of a $5 billion revenue business. His expertise in strategic planning, performance management, and balance sheet optimization will be essential as Flutterwave embarks on its next phase of development.

In his new role at Flutterwave, Mitesh will be responsible for managing the company’s corporate finance functions, driving expansion efforts, and optimizing resource allocation. He will also focus on the company’s strategic execution, leveraging his deep understanding of global financial operations to ensure operational efficiency and financial sustainability.

Commenting on his new position, Mitesh said, “I am thrilled to join Flutterwave at such a pivotal time. I am well aware of both the challenges and opportunities that come with operating in Africa and other emerging markets. I look forward to utilizing my experience to help Flutterwave grow and optimize its business model for sustained profitability. Together with the team, we will focus on enhancing Flutterwave’s financial performance and operational excellence through innovation and strategic curiosity.”

Welcoming Mitesh to the team, Flutterwave’s CEO and Founder, Olugbenga ‘GB’ Agboola, said, “Mitesh’s extensive experience in Africa and on a global scale aligns perfectly with our goal of connecting Africa to the world. His proven track record in financial leadership and operational excellence will be invaluable as we continue our growth journey. We are confident that his expertise will not only strengthen our financial operations but also add value to our enterprise merchants, retail remittance customers, and the broader African fintech ecosystem.”

Over the past few years, Flutterwave has bolstered its leadership team with key hires from leading companies such as PayPal, Stripe, and Western Union. The addition of Mitesh further underscores Flutterwave’s commitment to attracting top talent and strengthening its financial and risk management capabilities to support its ambitious expansion plans.
