Krishnan Ranganath, Regional Executive for West Africa at Africa Data Centres, has exited the company after five years marked by regional expansion and infrastructure scale-up.
Ranganath confirmed his departure in a LinkedIn post, noting that he was closing a significant chapter of leadership to pursue new professional opportunities.
Africa Data Centres (ADC) operates one of the continent’s largest interconnected, carrier- and cloud-neutral data centre networks, serving enterprises, cloud providers and telecommunications operators across multiple African markets.
Expansion and Infrastructure Growth
Reflecting on his tenure, Ranganath described his leadership journey as one focused on long-term infrastructure development to support West Africa’s digital transformation.
“What began as a mission to navigate the complexities of a new market evolved into a period of significant growth. We didn’t just build data centres; we laid foundations for West Africa’s digital future,” he stated.
He joined ADC at a critical growth phase, as the company sought to strengthen its competitive position in West Africa’s rapidly expanding data centre market. Under his leadership, the company moved from early-stage deployments to becoming a recognised provider of colocation and cloud connectivity solutions in the region.
Ranganath spearheaded market entry and expansion strategies, addressing regulatory, environmental and operational challenges while scaling infrastructure capacity across key markets. His tenure also saw the strengthening of operational systems and the development of a high-performance regional team.
Transition Amid Rising Demand
In his farewell message, he expressed gratitude to colleagues and partners for their contributions, highlighting the collaborative effort behind ADC’s regional progress.
“To my team and colleagues: thank you for the late nights and the strategic breakthroughs that fuelled our progress. I leave with great memories and a sharp focus on what’s next,” he wrote.
While he did not disclose his next role, he indicated that further details regarding his future plans would be announced in due course.
His departure comes at a time when demand for data centre capacity across West Africa continues to accelerate, driven by growing cloud adoption, expanding digital services, and increasing enterprise need for localised data infrastructure.
